I became a clinical esthetician because I had terrible skin. In junior high school, I stopped participating in social events, and instead spent most of my time in front of the mirror, trying to cover up my zits.
I also had flat warts around my mouth that looked like even more acne. This was a time before estheticians really existed as a field, so I was seeing dermatologists, but my skin never really cleared. Fortunately, my mother went to cosmetology school and I was able to get extractions and facials from an esthetician, and finally saw improvement in my skin. I realized if I learned these techniques, I could help other people suffering from skin issues.
Clients often come to me disliking one specific “imperfection” they feel they have. This might feel familiar, you might have had something pop into your mind as your “one thing” that you just wish was “fixed.”
Hoping to pick the perfect gifts for your loved ones this holiday season? Getting just the right one, all while making it easy, and budget-friendly, can be exhausting. Let me help!
I’ve put together a list of my (and my client’s!) favorite things to help you pick just the right gift.
I take the time to look under the surface, and put together a view of your whole health. Using my signature system, Your Skin MATTERS™, I am able to equip you to talk to your doctor about your skin issues, and to know what types of questions to ask. I commonly refer patients to cosmetic nurses, plastic surgeons, derms, gynos, or other specialists depending on their needs. I also make every effort to work within your insurance and send you where you’re going to get the most out of your time and money.
Similar to an in-person consult, we start our work together with a full evaluation to create your personal treatment plan using my proprietary system: Your Skin MATTERS. While in-person is always great, for the virtual consultation we use the Zoom meeting platform to meet. I have a high-resolution screen which allows me to have a good view of your skin. Clients find this to be very convenient and it means that I can work with clients no matter where they live.
For an idea of what a good skin care routine looks like, check out my article that breaks down a simple skin care regimen.
The best routine will differ for everyone depending on their age, lifestyle, skin type, etc. Ideally this is one that works for you and results in skin you love. If you’d like an individualized skin care routine, book your own consultation with me to develop your specific treatment plan.
This is such a popular question I’ve written an article to help break down the difference between them and explain why you should use an eye cream.
Of course! Simply head here to purchase your gift!

From my personal experience, I really understand that your skin matters.
You’re never too young or too old to improve your skin.
I had a client come to me at 92 years old. She had a skin condition that caused her to spend a lot of time trying to hide it with makeup. She was a darling lady, always well-dressed, but she wasn’t happy with her skin.
What she really needed was extractions, and that’s not fun. With her age and delicate tissue, she was going to have temporary redness. But, she came to me every three weeks, and in six months, she was proud of her skin. She wasn’t putting on as much makeup and said it had changed her life.
The youngest client I began working with was 10 and now in her thirty’s with beautiful skin. Age doesn’t have any bearing on when to seek professional help. Skin is capable of change when treated correctly.
The best facial for you will be unique to your skin and lifestyle. Factors like age, lifestyle, skin type, skin conditions and products you currently use are considered. The best way to choose the facial that will work for you is to join me for a personalized consult, where we work together with a full evaluation to create your personal treatment plan according to your specific needs, goals and budget.

Usually a persistent skin condition is not just a surface problem, there’s often something underlying it. My whole health approach regarding skin care helps us determine the best course of action.
We all have a tendency as human beings to want to look better — what we’re wearing, our makeup, hair and skin appears. But it’s WRONG. Health needs to be the first focus.
My clients and I put together a plan to help achieve their healthiest skin. By the time we reach the end goal, we will have a softer more youthful appearance; it naturally comes. Instead of spot treating, we have to look at the whole picture, the whole person.
I went through six months of esthetician school and as soon as I graduated, I enrolled in an advanced training course. Even with 35 years of experience, I haven’t stopped learning. I’m constantly taking classes and refreshers which keeps me motivated. I do not know it all but I love learning and I do my research. It’s important for my clients to understand what they have, how to treat it and how to communicate with their doctors.
I take in as much info as I can with every opportunity I have to do so. Learning doesn’t just happen in formal classes — it happens with everyone you talk to. When I was recently in recovery from eye surgery, the nurse was picking my brain about her skin. I ended up referring her to a local dermatologist. I’ve serviced hundreds of in-person clients, most of them have been with me for years. It’s very gratifying when clients thank me for helping them feel more confident in their own skin.
